Strategy:
Why we exist.

Our Vision:

We believe in a world where the next generation have balanced wellbeing whilst navigating the challenges of the world they live in.

Our Mission:

To nurture better well-being, and a healthier environment for the world’s youth with a focus towards type 1 diabetes, mental health and ocean conservation.

Our Values

Equality

We believe deeply in equal access to healthcare, resources, support, and quality of life for those with chronic illness.

Honesty & Trust

Honesty and Trust are key components to our character and behaviour as a family.
We operate with organisations where these characteristics are imperative. We have regular check-ins with our partners, relationship building is a focus with our grantees.

Empathy

Empathy is key in this field of work, it helps us to foster a deeper understanding of both youth and environmental needs. We ensure initiatives are compassionate, relevant, and impactful.

Supportiveness

We go all in. Following an in-depth process to select our grantees. We believe in our partners and support their work, objectives completely. We provide support to our partners where we can, not only with capital but through our networks, knowledge and growing understanding of our focus areas.

Action for impact

We endeavour to transform intentions into tangible results and impact. Impact is essential to ensure resources are used effectively to create measurable, positive change in our focus areas for lasting impact.

Responsibility

The gaps are too great. People with T1D are 60% more likely to struggle with their wellbeing and only 1% philanthropic funding goes towards the ocean. We need to do something.

Djinda Foundation has two Pillars of focus.  Each focus area has distinct objectives, and channels where we focus our efforts. They work towards a common goal of nurturing balanced well-being for youth and the ocean.

Well-being for young people

Mental health, physical health and social inclusion are all equally vital for youth to be balanced and healthy individuals. Young people must be empowered with tools and information to support their well-being. Our initiatives strive to create an environment where every young individual can navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope.

Ocean Conservation

The climate and environment are essential to protect for the future, we endeavour to achieve the global target of 30×30 seeking to protect 30% of land, freshwater and ocean by 2030. This commitment extends beyond immediate impact to ensure a sustainable and thriving planet for generations to come.

Our focus areas serve as guidelines to direct our efforts. However, we are not limited to supporting only these areas. We welcome and consider promising and suitable programs, projects, and organisations that align with our mission. If your initiative demonstrates potential and aligns with our values and mission, we encourage you to reach out.

Our Strategic Focus Areas

Well-being funding will be prioritised to programmes in Switzerland and Europe. With global support of successful models and organisations working towards our vision and mission. Focusing on individuals and the social change and advocacy that is needed for better well-being.

Djinda Foundation does this by focusing on the root causes of a lack of well-being through utilising existing channels and resources with regular touchpoints for our beneficiaries.

These channels include:

Healthcare Providers

Through our research, we believe this will have the most immediate and long-term impact on the next generation.

Ocean Conservation, support is focused primarily in South East Asia due to its rich marine biodiversity, critical ecosystems, and the significant economic and cultural reliance of its populations on the ocean.

The ocean provides over half of the world’s oxygen, regulates the climate, supports biodiversity, and serves as a primary protein source for over a billion people. Despite its crucial role in sustaining life on Earth, human activities are disrupting its balance. According to experts in ocean conservation, nature is the solution to climate change, the ocean covers 70% of the earth and is damaged, mistreated and is the least funded SGD, receiving only 1% of funding. By concentrating conservation efforts here, we can protect vital ecosystems, support the livelihoods of millions, and make a significant global impact on marine conservation so that we can preserve the planet for future generations.

The philanthropic work needed in marine conservation is vast, these are Djinda Foundation’s objectives to support overall ocean conservation.

Our Approach

Evidence isn’t just a tool; it’s our direction.

We believe that meaningful change comes from what we can prove works – guided by data, shaped by results. For Djinda Foundation, it’s not just about the size of the impact, but about ensuring that each action we support is rooted in proven methods.
