The Djinda
Story.
Our Australian founders are inspired by aboriginal storytelling between generations, where it is custom to pass on wisdom and life lessons.
We are shocked by the increasing trend of declining health and wellbeing in the next generation and we wish to inspire and nurture our youth through passed down stories and teachings to aid, understand and support them.
We are a family foundation who first and foremost, believe in a world where the next generation have balanced wellbeing whilst navigating the challenges of the world, they
live in.
Sparked by our core vision to provide support to the next generation with a north star to help guide their way through the challenges of today’s ever-changing world. Inspired by the aboriginal tradition of sharing stories across generations.
Coming from the founders’ Australian roots, Djinda means star in the Aboriginal Noongar language. The significance and heritage of this meaning stems from central values of Djinda Foundation where honesty, trust, empathy, action for impact, guidance, forethought, equality and support are pulled through everything we do.
Drawing from the experience and wisdom of experts, understanding the current normal through our partners and grantees as well as research and understanding our beneficiaries needs and ensuring they can find their North Star, whatever that may be.
Whether we are supporting resources for Type 1 Diabetes management, training for mental health awareness in schools for students and youth workers or supporting marine protected areas to encourage coral and marine life regeneration to support our climate change efforts.
We work as grant givers, impact investors and collective contributors to provide support to young people in the now and the future.
